HOLYHEAD LOCAL NOTICE TO MARINERS NO. 11/2008.
HOLYHEAD - SMALL CRAFT CHANNEL - DISCONTINUATION
Following consultation with port users the Port Authority has decided to discontinue the
Small Craft Channel, adjacent to the north east arm of the breakwater. This applies to
both western and eastern channels.
Small craft should now use the fairway when navigating in the New Harbour, keeping
well clear of the breakwater where fishing pots and lines may be encountered. Passage
should not be made between the Spit buoy and the breakwater where shoaling occurs.
Small craft are reminded to keep well clear of commercial shipping when using the
fairways and attention is drawn to the precautionary area noted on BA chart 2011 and
LNTM 6/2008 – Navigational Restrictions.
